FESPA 2007 Berlin, Germany, FESPA World Expo India, FESPA Digital Printing Europe, Geneva, Switzerland, FESPA World Expo Thailand, Bangkok

FESPA 2005 was in Munich: a huge success. FESPA Digital 2006 was in Amsterdam: another success. These two events moved FESPA into the ranks of the international trade shows that are a “must see.”

The upcoming shows are FESPA 2007 Berlin, Germany, FESPA World Expo India, FESPA Digital Printing Europe, Geneva, Switzerland, and FESPA World Expo Thailand, Bangkok.

FLAAR is already making our reservations. We hope you can join us.

International Sign Expo 2007, ISA 2008; SGIA 2007, SGIA 2008

In the USA the major trade shows for large format inkjet printers are SGIA 2007 and ISA 2007. SGIA 2007 will be Oct. 24-27 in Orlando. SGIA ’08 will be Oct 15-18 in Atlanta.

ISA tends to alternate between Las Vegas and Orlando. ISA Sign Expo 2007 will be in Las Vegas. International Sign Expo 2008 will be in Orlando. They tend to be March or April.

These dates are far enough apart that visitors and exhibitors tend to do both SGIA and ISA the same year. In Europe it is a bit different. FESPA has taken the clear lead. FESPA is the European equivalent of SGIA, namely a screen printing trade association that has had to go digital to survive. FESPA has done more than survive, they have prospered.

The prime competition in Europe is from Reed Exhibitions, a commercial professional organizer of trade shows. They hold regional shows that are especially well known for France, Italy, Spain, and Germany. I have attended the Reed Exhibitions in Germany, Italy, and Spain.

What is confusing to an outsider are the various names, such as Pro Sign for the 2006 event in Germany . I don’t remember that name for the event in Duesseldorf in 2005. Some are called Viscom (Visual Communications). Others are called “Sign.”
